That's a big claim, but there's a lot of development in this short to back it up. So let's take a tour of the short. The first thing you might notice is what's missing: the seams and multiple panels. We engineered a new fabric that changes depending on the needs over various parts of the body. The lower leg has a raw-cut leg ending and rubberized yarns to guarantee a flat grip to keep the leg in place. The fabric becomes lighter in the thigh, while the four-way stretch provides just the right amount of muscle support. In the pelvis area, the compression and support increase to keep the seat pad and everything else in place, and the fabric gets thicker to avoid any embarrassing transparency issues. With this magical fabric we don't need to stitch separate panels together, which ensures more comfort and a better fit, as well as a sleek, sophisticated look. But you always debate whether you're willing to compromise comfort for that look, and you end up wearing Lycra®. So we set out to make a better baggy. We reached for a stretch woven fabric that gives great stretch but in an unbelievably lightweight yet durable fabric. We gave it a DWR finish so mud and water roll-off. We gave the short two top-opening pockets like jeans so that whatever you put in there won't fall out. We made the cut fairly close to the body so you look good off the bike but the short doesn't balloon out when you're on the bike. It all just kinda disappears. The short doesn't have its own seat pad, so wear this over your favorite Castelli short. The Superleggera is a good choice for warmer weather, or the Unlimited if you want the extra pockets.
